Details

The Human Rights Council is a UN principal intergovernmental body responsible for the global promotion and protection of all human rights, consisting of 47 Member States. Specialized mechanisms of the HRC address violations and promote cooperation at global levels. The prohibition of torture and other cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment is thus central to the HRC's mandate. For this edition, the MUNDERES delegates will be discussing upon "Combating the Practice of Torture and Inhumane Treatment in Detention Facilities." Delegates are expected to engage in decisive and collaborative diplomacy to develop robust international strategies, together with actionable steps.
